Mrs. Shakendra Moorer

Color Guard Director

Mrs. Shakendra Moorer is a Native of Atlanta, Georgia. She is truly no stranger to motivational and leadership qualities. She served as SGA President and a Band Leader at Benjamin E. Mays High School. Her passion is helping develop today’s youth in all facets of life. Mrs. Moorer received her Bachelors degree from Bethune Cookman University in Mass Communication with a focus on Broadcast Production Technology. During her tenure at Bethune Cookman she performed in the band for all four years. Upon completion of her degree she became a teacher at BAK Middle School of the Arts in West Palm Beach, Florida, teaching “Radio Broadcasting and Advanced TV Production”. She’s the Middle Schools’ Director of Aftercare and the BAK Star step team coach.  Mrs. Moorer served as the Color Guard instructor at Glades Central Community High School with Mr. Moorer for the last five of his six years as director. She’s currently completing her Masters degree in Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University. “If I help establish the mindset of ‘Excellence With Caring’ through our youth, together we can make a positive impact on society”. Mrs. Moorer is also a member of Tau Beta Sigma, National Honorary Band Sorority Incorporated.
